A couple weeks ago Anelle and I got a tour of the Barossa Valley from Laura and Dylan. They picked us up at nine am and we hit the road. Our first tasting came with Hemera Estate. What I have come to learn through the past two wine tours, is that I enjoy the Sweet White and Tawney wines. Anyhow, we started with whites to cleanse the palette, moved on to some reds from vines that were over 100 years old and finished with some tawny. | Pegasus was my favorite from the Hemera Estate. After a few tastings, it was time to move on to our second location, which happens to be where Dylan proposed to Laura. |
Keller Meister is a beautiful winery with a view to match. It's no wonder why Dylan chose this location. It has the type of view that entices you to purchase your favorite bottle and then sit outside among friends and enjoy blue skies, rolling hills and vineyards as far as the eye can see. Keller Meister has some of the best names for their wines. How could you not want a taste of the Wombat General, The Funk Wagon and Wild Witch? After a sip of the tawny based wine that is seeped in dark German chocolate and three year old brandy I had to buy a bottle. First purchase done! |
