Now to get into exactly what we were doing. We spent September working for Wendy and Hanz that manage luxury vacation homes in the area; homes on the beach, in Port Douglas and in the rain forest in the mountains. We spent a bit over 4 hours each day cleaning and getting rental homes ready for guests. We cleaned BBQs, the bedrooms, bathrooms, pool area. You name it, we cleaned it. The last two weeks were some of the busiest times of the year because it's wedding season. Some of the homes are modest and some are award winning homes in the rain forests with unbelievable views and pools. These are the homes that leave you in awe. Anyhow, that was pretty much our job during the month of September. In exchange, we got accommodation, food and access to pools and kayaks that weren't being used by guests. Every Sunday we had a big dinner with Wendy and Hanz at their place.
So, that was our September. Pretty chilled out with the exception of scuba diving. Anelle and I just got out of the national parks near Darwin where we spent time camping and swimming. We are now at the airport in Darwin waiting for our flight to Perth, Western Australia. Hopefully in a week or two, I'll have a post about what turned out to be our favorite outdoor areas in Oz...Kakadu, Litchfield and Nitmiluk.
