Tomorrow Anelle and I will be making our way back up North towards Cairns. We spent an excellent 3 weeks with this family in Cooroy, which we will undoubtedly stay in contact with for years to come. Over the next 5 days we will be making our way to our next volunteering location in the Mossman area. We are making some stops at 1770 (the first place Captain Cook landed), Airlie Beach, Townsville and one or two other places along the way. Anyhow, I wrapped up a GoPro video about our time visiting the Tablelands. The Tablelands in North Queensland is definitely something to make time for if you find yourself in this area. Sure, there are some tours that can take you around to the major sights BUT I would highly recommend renting a car for 2 days and taking your time. It's not a reach to say you will be in awe of one or two of the countless waterfalls you will visit and want to spend an hour or two there. |
We had an absolutely great time driving around the little towns within the Tablelands. We visited enormous fig trees, drove in and out of farms and rain forests, swam through waterfalls and in a crater. While it was warm out, some of the waterfalls were deep in the rain forest and because it's winter; the water was COLD! We weren't going to let some cold water scare us. We braved the cold water and jumped in; have a look!

Pretty pictures. All I can think of are the lyrics to the TLC song...
